Hello everybody,
I guess a small explanation is needed, since this is the final issue of Lies (both on the web and in print). The biggest question has been why? Why give up after 3 1/2 years? Well, money is the good reason. As in, we don't have any. And there are tons of other things we all want to do, so creatively, it needed to stop. So this issue is an all-out blow up of the strange universe called Lies. None of us are really dead. Although I guess some are a little pissed off--whatever. No hard feelings. Everyone at Lies would like to thank everyone else for their support, patronage and free CDs. We're still doing reviews (for Aiding & Abetting and Curio magazine), and still do freelance articles for local papers in Albuquerque. As far as all the other weird stuff we do, everyone has embarked on their various creative endevours away from the mag. There are the assorted number of musicians (Dave, Danny, Brian, Lucas, etc.), painters (Willie), writers (Matt, Aaron, Jon, Steve, Scott, Mike, Tony, etc.), lovers (Lisa, Zep), fighters (Nina, T.C.), graphics (Brady), politicians (Lenexa) and others I forgot about. Oh yeah, Jenn Ecks is really dead. I'd blame drunk drivers, but I think she was the one who was drunk. Well, we all saw it coming. And it wasn't pretty watching her mother being sedated and dragged to a mental hospital, but what can you do? It's a fucked up world.
So thanks everyone. It's been a fun ride. Maybe we'll see you again. And maybe we won't.
