Jenn's Big Q band pick: The Meek

The Meek. These four guys have found a formula for combining profound musical talent and songwriting with the ability to have a lot of fun being extremely bitter and pissed off at the world.

With songs like "The Girl Next Door"--covering an amazingly broad spectrum of topics; from divorce to the endless emotional struggle for understanding and friendship betwixt the two sexes--the fellas'll rock that ring right off your finger and make you laugh at the misery. I'm not going to attempt an explanation of their style and sound of music (and the watermelon mountains are alive with it) in hopes that you will go and check 'em out for yourselves. Besides, that's really less of a cop-out than the typical damn critics who safely brand everyone with that "A" word, don't you think?

I will say this though: when Bob screams, "She used to be my friend, but now I think that bitch is a cunt!" with the beautiful, melodious air-like quality as only he can, it would put tear in even Mother Teresa's saintly, however decomposing, eye.

Anyway, check 'em out--you'll dig it and if you stick around for the whole show they may grace you with a brilliant rendition of "Hey Hey Tippy Turtle." And by the way, for us chicks, all four fellas have tremendously tight asses!
