Only for the heads

The hottest new trend in music duplication is . . . cassettes! Vancouver's I Think I Saw You See Me is releasing this set with a physical run of 100 cassettes (digital downloads are also available). The bands that have embraced the capstan-dependent form tend to propagate noise, whether analog or electronic. ITISYSM is more analog than electronic, though it tends to use whatever sounds it has at its disposal.

(self-released)

These are long pieces that tend to ramble and shift gears. The joy is in the journey rather than any particular hook. This reminds me most of the Don Caballero side project Storm & Stress, with its mathy guitar lines backed up by squalls of general chaos.

So very early 90s. Growling noise spewed forth with technical force. If the references I've given draw a blank and my descriptions leave you confused, then you're exactly where this band wants you to be. This is the sound of questioning one's place in the universe, with all the speculation and rage that sort of inquiry provokes.

Sometimes it's refreshing to be totally overwhelmed by clouds of dark matter and darker energy. The four pieces here (stitched by one short interlude) are mind-cleansing. Use with discretion, and play as loudly as possible. Bon chance!
