The Franz is Julia Franz Richter. Along with Felix Hafner and Clemens Wenger, this trio has created a short set of sublime electro chill pop. But that's just the beginning.

These songs are part of a greater theater presentation that was presented in Vienna (the one in Austria) for one week at the end of March and beginning of April. While these songs aren't particularly dramatic, it's not hard to imagine the choreography that might accompany the slinky beats thar drive these songs.

I suppose the live show could be something akin to a living music video, but my understanding is that the performative part of this project was always the main thrust. Given that Richter is an actress, Hafer and director and Wenger a musician, that idea makes plenty of sense.

And it doesn't take away from the sly pleasures of this tight set. The music is enticing all by itself. Given a blank canvas and a full stage, the results might be transcendent. I didn't get to Vienna this spring, but I'm happy to visit this EP again and again.
