Led by the nose

Saxophone, drums and synthesizers. Oh my. This Birmingham (U.K.) trio plays songs that aren't exactly krautrock, might be kinda jazz and maybe sorta make sense in half-a dozen other contexts. If you're old enough to remember Brise-Glace, you get the idea. It's all kinetic and atmospherics.

You need more description? The drums power these songs, and electronics and synths keep the momentum flowing. The saxophone provides melodic interest, though that interest can be bracing at times. Depending in your mood, these pieces might be heard as meditative or menacing.

Either way, un.procedure tunnels straight to the core of consciousness, bypassing most nodes of control. The sounds mainline the lizard brain and have their way. Which is another way of saying don't listen to this while tripping. Or do. Your call.

Absolutely gobsmacking in its ability to hijack base emotions. These pieces are masterworks of manipulating introspection. I didn't want to follow, but I had no choice. Primal is an understatement. What a wild ride.
