5/30/22:
Abandon the path

Lewis Bigham has explored all sorts of electronic realms as Glassmasterer. The Scottish artist throws a little bit of everything into this release. There's plenty of techno chill, a bit of funk and the occasional release into mindless EDM. Mindless until Bigham makes his point, of course.

I suppose that makes this experimental, but the songs are so well-formed and accessible that description seems off. Bigham is certainly an electronic explorer, but he knows how to refine his discoveries into well-cut gems.

Wherever these songs came from, they have been tightened into wonderful and engaging sounds. I don't think this set really says much about where Bigham has been or where he is going, but it sure makes a fine statement about today. This may be a small forest, but it's one that's easy to get lost in. Bask in the glow.
