3/24/22:
Nonproliferance

Amy Correia hasn't put out any music of her own in more than a decade, but then again, she's never been profligate. This five-song set was written before the pandemic, and then recorded in one day. Produced by Kimon Kirk, whose solo debut was one of the highlights of last year, the spare arrangements here shine a bright light on Correia's voice--both writing and singing.

As We Are EP
(self-released)

Correia's worn, scratchy and strong singing voice fits the writing perfectly. These are the songs of someone who has lived a life and has a little something to say about that. Introspective and insightful more than sassy, this earned wisdom sparkles throughout.

Her release frequency resembles the Fibonacci sequence: Longer and longer waits between music. Hard to say when or if we'll hear more from Correia, though I have inkling that she's ready to break the pattern.

I hope so. These personal journeys and quiet dramas are far too intriguing to be a final chapter. I hope she finds more to say, much sooner than later.
