Flirting with the void

The realm where house rubs up against outer space is often called "deep house." You can dance to it, and you can trance to it. Well, you know what I mean. Taydos creates warm and inviting spaces for both.

And while house is certainly a huge influence on the plethora of sounds known as EDM, it differs in many ways. There can be a drop, but one--particularly in deep house--that is often defined by an absence of sound. Taydos plays with the expectations of both house and EDM aficionados, throwing the occasional curve within these engaging songs.

For one, the modestly insistent beat that is a house staple comes and goes. The music itself keeps the time (because, of course), but the beat itself plays a bit of peek-a-boo. That is where the "deep" comes in, and Taydos takes full advantage of the leeway.

Just four pieces. Enough to recognize the skill of Taydos, but hardly enough to satisfy. Let's hope Taydos finds many more realms to discover. I'm signing up for those journeys right now.
