9/27/21: Incoming oncoming What this sounds like is Nomeansno playing Ramones songs sung in Italian (yes, I am aware of the Hanson Brothers . . . but hockey is no substitute for Italian). The bass-driven attack is churningly thrilling, and the harmonies have just the right amount of grime on them.
While the title refers to a certain strain of anti-federalism in Italian society, it also makes for a funny tweak of the Clash. I may be reading too much into that (duh), but it's worth a shot. After all, the ten tracks I have blow by in something short of 20 minutes. My brain is on overdrive--even as the music encourages me to forget everything except the mind-bogglingly insistent rhythm section. A total rush. I have no idea what these guys are singing about, and I really don't care. I just broke the knob off my stereo, and it's still not loud enough. This one melts off the years better than a Tabasco and molasses cleanse. I can't stop "dancing" (air quotes because, well, duh). |
