2/15/21:
In short

It's been five years since Chris Spino and Coma Girls have released anything more than singles. This set is a scant four songs (doubling last year's "Smoking Gun"), but even this small taste is immensely satisfying.

Wandering somewhere between psychedelia, americana and shoegaze (so, yeah, nothing changes a lot), Spino howls and muses his way to imperfect perfection. The title track immediately sets the hook, but the other three songs are quite a haul as well.

The way that Spino shuffles though his influences within a single song is arresting. He's a fan of the slow burn, and he likes to go out with a flourish. But even that formula isn't perfectly followed. These four songs rhyme, but they follow different paths.

Yes, I wish there was more. And maybe there will be soon enough. Well, not soon enough, but soon. If patience brought us this set, well, I'm all for it.
