11/9/20:
Embrace the chill

So remember a couple of weeks ago when I called myself out for reviewing a lot of loud or electronic (or both) albums? Well, I've decided to give in. 2020 is what it is, and that's what my brain needs right now. And EbE404 is supplying all of the kinda ambient extended electronic exploration I need at the moment.

(GIVE/TAKE)

These are long songs. And, really, they're not songs. They're pieces. They're semi-abstract ruminations that have an uncanny ability to unsettle. If we were handing out Halloween candy this year, I'd have this on full blast (damn you, 2020!)

Unsettle, but not exactly frighten. There's a sense of wonder and exploration as well. These pieces invite a listener in, but they don't provide a clear road map. The journey is yours; the music is simply the conduit.

I realize the descriptions here are vague. The sound of the music isn't what is remarkable. The ideas conveyed hold all the power. EbE404 doesn't mess around, even at its most abstract. Drop in and reprogram your brain, if only for a while. It's a solid survival technique.
