Dread Blanket

I find that it's easier to explain what KPT isn't, rather than what it is. This is not experimental. It is not dance music. It's not ambient. And yet . . .

It is swooping, beat-driven electronic stuff that incorporates all of the above and more. There is also a nod to industrial forebears. I imagine Skinny Puppy fans might find a happy landing place here. And yet . . .

Ah, that's a cheap device. KPT is in the world-building business. There is no tour guide; you get to decide how heavily you tread in these realms. After assimilating, I found the dark, pulsating forests to be quite cozy. That overwhelming sense of dread transformed into a warm, comforting blanket.

Perhaps I went in a little too deep. I dunno. It's my feeling that the only way to experience this sort of music is to dive in headfirst and not worry about the depth of the pool. Surfacing is for suckers. Stay down and let the undertow take you.
