Is there such a thing as psychedelic laptop pop? The Cabin Fever sure thinks so. These chill-down tracks sparkle with processed drums and reverb and such. The effect is uncommon.

The Cabin Fever
Alone Together EP
(self-released)

The sound is utterly assembled, but the band is having a record release show, so it does manage to perform these songs live. Somehow. I'll leave the logistics to them. To my ear, the sound here would be difficult to replicate in a live setting. Though I wouldn't mind hearing the attempt.

These songs just keep boring deeper into the darker recesses. Recesses of the mind, of the world, of the universe. Whatever. Nothing is uncovered, but there is plenty of drive-by exposure.

And now I'm not making any sense. The Cabin Fever sounds familiar and foreboding all at once. There's a lot more here to explore, but this set does a fine job of jumping off.
