8/2/18:
Reverse migration

Deaf Poets have been bashing around south Florida for a while. The album cover is symbolic of the duo's recent move to New York. The music is, well, as thick and tasty as ever.

Deaf Poets
Change & Bloom EP
(Wax Romantix)

Most bands who blister their way through psychedelic and stoner sounds tend to be long winded. Deaf Poets keep their songs tight and lean. The riffage is godlike, and the power is undeniable. Six tracks that keep pushing and never let up.

I've heard bits and pieces from these boys, and these songs are the most complete and compact that they've written. I think they might be the finest expression of "What might happen if you applied a punk ethos to stoner rock?" The answer is awesome.

So far, the move seems to be providing some lovely dividends. I can't wait to hear the next installment.
